My name is Faith, and I’m reaching out during a very recent and ongoing transition in my life. Three weeks ago, I left Virginia to escape an abusive relationship that had become unsafe. I relocated to California in hopes of finding stability and support with my sister, but that environment quickly became emotionally harmful. Within five days, the situation escalated, and I was locked out of her apartment with nowhere to go. Thankfully, I was able to secure temporary housing in another state, which has allowed me to be safe for the moment. However, this arrangement is not permanent, and I do not yet have stable or long-term housing in place. Right now, I am focused on securing consistent housing, covering basic living expenses, and ensuring the continued care of my cat, who has been my constant companion and source of comfort throughout all of this. The funds raised will go directly toward housing costs, transportation, food, and pet care as I work toward stability after a very sudden displacement. This transition has happened quickly, and rebuilding after leaving an abusive situation takes time, resources, and support. Asking for help is not easy for me, but I am being honest about where I am and what I need in order to move forward safely and sustainably.
