Faith Rempe Myelodysplastic Syndrome Help

Faith Rempe is a loving mom and wife who put her TV news career on hold to stay home and raise her boys. She was a local reporter and anchor at WNEM-TV5 in Michigan where she grew up, and most recently at FOX5 in Las Vegas, NV.

In October 2021, one month after her second son was born, Faith was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) at just 30 years old.

Faith’s disease is considered high risk to turn into acute myeloid leukemia, so she was immediately started on chemotherapy treatments. However, chemo is only a short term solution, and doctors say a life saving bone marrow transplant is the only way to try to cure her cancer.

Because there are no transplant centers in Nevada, Faith is being referred to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. The transplant process will require Faith to stay isolated in the hospital for several weeks and then remain in Phoenix for at least 100 days after the transplant.

The funds raised here will go toward helping the Rempe family rent a home in Phoenix so Faith and her husband Kurt can be reunited with their boys as soon as she’s discharged from the hospital. Faith’s out of state family members will also be moving with them to help take care of their young children since Faith will need Kurt to be her 24/7 caregiver and drive her back and forth to the hospital several times a week. Donations will also help the Rempe family cover medical expenses and lost wages for Kurt to take unpaid time off through FMLA.
