We are reaching out during one of the most difficult seasons our family has ever faced to ask for your support for Emanuel.
Emanuel remains critically ill and is currently on a ventilator because his lungs are not yet strong enough for him to fully breathe on his own. While this is very serious, there have been some encouraging signs. His oxygen levels have improved, and when sedation is lighter, he has been able to respond and follow commands. We are holding on to those moments and continuing to believe for his recovery.
As he begins to stabilize, doctors have shared that the next step will likely be transferring him to a long-term acute care hospital. There, the primary focus will be helping him come off the ventilator and continue the healing process. This level of care is critical, but it will require extended, specialized treatment.
We have been informed that Medicare will only cover the first 30 days of long-term acute care. After that, our family will be faced with incredibly difficult decisions of either covering the cost of continued care out of pocket or bringing Emanuel home on a ventilator and managing that level of care ourselves. This is not a position we ever imagined being in.
In addition to this, Emanuel was impacted by a major corporate layoff in January and received his final paycheck in March. Due to the severity of his current condition, he is no longer able to work. As the provider for his family, this loss of income combined with mounting medical expenses has created an overwhelming financial burden during an already devastating time.
Emanuel has been courageously battling End Stage Kidney Failure for the past 8 years, along with Congestive Heart Failure and Lung Disease. What we are facing now is the result of multiple serious health conditions reaching a critical point all at once.
We are asking for your support whether through prayer, sharing this message, or giving if you are able. Every contribution will go toward helping cover his medical care, long-term treatment, and supporting his family during this time.
We are believing for healing. We are believing for strength. And we are trusting God every step of the way.
Thank you for standing with us.
