UPDATE!!! Our Kevin's Heart Transplant Journey

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Supporters,

We are reaching out on behalf of our beloved Kevin Butler, who is now facing the fight of his life — a heart transplant.

Kevin is currently in the care of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, one of the top heart transplant hospitals in the country. While we’re deeply thankful for the exceptional medical attention he’s receiving, this journey comes with immense emotional and financial burdens.

Kevin and his wife, Lana, live in Laurel, Mississippi — nearly 400 miles from the hospital — they've had to relocate temporarily to be near Vanderbilt while undergoing testing, screening, and ultimately a donor match. Although we do not know God’s timing, we are preparing for a new heart and Vanderbilt needs to verify the family has the financial means to cover expenses and whatever costs the insurance will not cover.

They are in urgent need of financial support for lodging, living expenses, lost wages, travel, and medical costs as they walk this long and uncertain road together.

Kevin is truly the heart of our family. A man of deep faith, kindness, and unwavering love, he has always been the one we turn to for support, encouragement, and spiritual guidance. He is a proud Veteran, a devoted husband, a faithful servant, and a loving father to his six children and proud grandfather to his growing family. When he officiated a family wedding, his heart shocked him out of ventricular tachycardia during the ceremony — a powerful and sobering reminder of how long he’s lived with this life-threatening condition and how short life really is.

Our family has been praying for this transplant for many years, and now that Kevin is finally at this critical stage, we are humbly asking for your help.
