Faith, Love & Hospitality—Help Save The House of Lydia

Donation protected
Since its founding over 20 years ago, the House of Lydia Bed and Breakfast in Lynchburg, VA, has been a sanctuary of rest, renewal, and hospitality for ministers, missionaries, and faithful servants. Bonnie Adams, the devoted innkeeper of The House of Lydia, and Founder/President of Fishers of Men Inc. has opened her doors — and her heart — to everyone who’s crossed her path. You can watch this video to see how God is using Bonnie to reach lives for Christ around the world.

Now, this woman of faith who has poured so much love into others needs our help. At the end of this month, Bonnie faces foreclosure and risks losing both her home and the ministry she built on faith.

The House of Lydia is a living testimony to the spirit of Lydia from the Bible (Acts 16), a successful businesswoman who sold fine purple cloth and opened her home to the early Christian missionaries for their ministry and as place of worship. Like Lydia, Bonnie has used her home as a ministry - offering sacred refuge for those who tirelessly serve others in ministry and mission, often at little to no charge.

In a world where burnout is all too common for those who lead in faith, the House of Lydia provides a peaceful place to recharge spiritually, physically, and emotionally. At this beautiful, well-appointed bed and breakfast, travelers--those in ministry and those who are not--have experienced rest, organic meals, five-star hospitality, and a peaceful haven.

Over the years, hundreds of guests have found respite here. Stories abound of weary missionaries regaining strength, ministers refreshed for new seasons of service, and those weary from the demands of faith-filled work rediscovering hope and courage in this welcoming home.

Bonnie’s ministry — both through The House of Lydia and Fishers of Men — reflects her lifelong mission: to serve others, spread the reach of the Gospel, and offer rest for both the body and the soul. Now, this sacred place is facing foreclosure and is at risk of closing its doors forever.

Without urgent support, the ministry that has lifted so many weary souls may be lost. We need to raise $30,000 to cover mortgage/foreclosure prevention ($18,000), essential repairs for safety/comfort ($6000), and ongoing operating costs ($6000) to ensure the House of Lydia continues its vital mission while plans are made to faithfully steward this vital resource for many years to come.

We are asking friends, family, and believers everywhere to help save The House of Lydia. Your donation, no matter the size, can make a real difference in helping Bonnie keep her home and continue her mission of love, service, and faith. It’s a chance to keep this unique faith-based business alive, a place where those who nurture others find renewal.

Please join us in preserving a vital ministry of faith, care, and restoration — a place where those who give so much to others can pause, heal, and be strengthened in their calling. Together, we can keep the doors open and the light shining for those who serve in God’s name.

Let’s come together to keep The House of Lydia open — a home built on love, sustained by faith, and filled with God’s grace. Thank you for your prayers and generosity.
