MISSIONS TRIP TO AFRICA!
Jonathan and Faith have the opportunity to go on a Mission Trip to Africa with veteran Missionary Dwayne Wright this summer. During this missions trip, they will be serving in a variety of ways participating in feeding orphans at a Manna Feeding Center, ministering to youth at church services, and serving throughout their ministries. This 9-day experience will immerse them in African culture, cuisine, and language, providing a unique chance to grow both spiritually and personally.
Jonathan and Faith are currently Juniors in High School and have grown up as ministry and military kids for their entire lives. This life has let them see a life of service to God and Country. God has been faithful, and they have lived in a variety of places like Ohio, Texas, Arizona, Washington, and Missouri. This has been a blessing as they have grown to know and love so many around our nation. It has also been hard at times as they have had to say “goodbye” to so many as well. Jonathan has worked at Papa Johns in the past and is currently working at the Fort Leonard Wood Commissary. Faith is working at Westside Christian Academy Before and After Care. These jobs have taught them valuable life skills. These last few years, they have both become greatly involved in several ministries at our church, Westside Baptist Church, Waynesville, Missouri. Jonathan has served on our church greeting team and is becoming involved in our men’s ministry. He is involved in men’s Bible studies and outreach through community involvement and our men’s ministry to the homeless. Faith has served in our Teen group’s leadership ministry becoming a leader among her peers and involved in teen Bible studies. She also frequently leads our teen youth group in Praise and Worship. As parents, we have seen them both become deeply passionate about serving others and sharing the Good News of God's love. We believe this opportunity will allow them to continue living out their faith while making a meaningful impact in a new community. David and I pray that this trip would further burden their hearts for missions and help them see a broader part of God’s Kingdom work.
Would you consider joining us in prayer and financial support as they prepare to embark on this journey and serve the Lord this summer in Africa? Each will $2,900 ($5,800) total for both to cover all expenses for the trip (this includes airfare, lodging, food, passports, and transportation in country).
As a side note, Jonathan shared his top four reasons why he wants to go on this missions trip to Africa.
1. “I want to know how God is moving in countries throughout Africa.”
2. “I want to experience what evangelism is like in another country.”
3. “I want to understand what the difference is between the African church and the American church.”
4. “I want to see what challenges Christians face while spreading the Gospel.”
If you would like to be a part of this ministry opportunity, there are three things they need:
1. Prayer. For God’s provision to allow them see Global Missions as Kingdom work and see where God would have them serve Him.
2. Encouragement. This will be their first trip on their own. Traveling alone and ministering without family will be new to me. They are looking forward to new ministry opportunities.
3. Financial support. The only way for them to be able to go is to raise most of their funds.
