A Father’s Plea for His Daughter – Help Us Get Brianna the Care She Desperately Needs  

 Hi, I’m Chuck Townsend a husband, a Dad to two amazing daughters, a disabled Army combat veteran, and a man who’s never been afraid to work hard. But today, I’m asking for something I never thought I’d have to ask for: help. 

Brianna’s Story: 

Still No Answers Our youngest daughter Brianna has been fighting a painful, unexplained GI illness for nearly a year. She’s endured three hospital stays, countless procedures, and still… no answers. Just last week, she was discharged from Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital again, and this time was the worst yet little communication, no direction, and our daughter in tears from being poked, prodded, and dismissed. We’ve been doing everything we can on our own gathering her records, calling hospitals, pleading with specialists and by God’s grace, we finally got into the Pediatric Motility Center at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando. Her appointment is set for September 17, but she’s on the cancellation list and could be called in sooner. 

 We’re also in communication with the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, thanks to a dear friend. But even if they accept her case, we’ll need to secure out-of-network insurance approval and cover major travel expenses. 

It’s overwhelming… but it might be our best shot at real answers. 

Then I Lost My Job…

 As if things weren’t already hard enough… on Monday, I was let go from my job. I’ve never been fired before in my life. I’ve worked construction, sold homes, drove trucks, served in the Army, and always provided for my family. But the stress of Brianna’s health and missing time from work likely played a part. I take responsibility. I don’t hold bitterness. I’m just… heartbroken and scared.  

This couldn’t have come at a worse time. My wife starts college full-time next month, pursuing her dream of becoming a sonographer something that could change our family’s future. And I need to be available for Brianna’s upcoming treatments, wherever they take us.

 Right now, I’m doing everything I can to find remote work that will allow me to stay by my daughter’s side. I’m also working toward finishing my real estate license, in hopes of building something stable for the long term. But in this moment we’re overwhelmed. We’re drowning. And we just need a hand to get back up.  

We’re Asking for Help We’re not asking for a handout. We’re praying for a second chance for our family, for Brianna’s health, for a fresh start.

 We’ve created this GoFundMe to help with:

 • Travel and lodging to and from Orlando (and possibly Minnesota). We need to Fly, due to Brianna’s diagnosis along road trip will just make  her symptoms worse. 

 • Meals and daily needs during extended stays 

 • Lost income while I care for Brianna full-time.

 • Any uncovered medical costs we may face. 

We honestly don’t even know how much to ask for. There’s no clear roadmap or timeline. We just know we can’t do this alone anymore.  

 From One Parent to Another… If you’re a mom or dad, you know… there’s no pain like watching your child suffer and not being able to fix it. We’ve never asked for help like this before. But today, we’re humbly putting our pride aside and reaching out for a miracle. 

 Whether it’s $5, $50, $500 or just sharing this page and saying a prayer we are truly, deeply grateful.
