Hi, my name is Jada, and I’m sharing my story because my life changed in an instant. In the early morning hours, I was an innocent bystander caught in a shooting outside a nightclub. I was shot twice in my left leg. What I thought would be a short hospital visit quickly turned into something much more serious. Due to the size and severity of the gunshot wounds, I now have to see a surgeon for further evaluation and treatment. The damage to my leg is not minor, and my recovery will take time, careful medical attention, and ongoing care.

While I am grateful to be alive, the physical pain, emotional trauma, and financial strain have been overwhelming. Because of my injuries, I am unable to work at this time. I am facing mounting expenses that I was not prepared for, including surgical consultations, possible procedures, prescription medications, wound care supplies, follow-up appointments, transportation, rent, and basic living expenses while I recover.

I have always worked hard to support myself and remain independent. Asking for help does not come easily to me, but right now I truly need it.
