The past few weeks have been incredibly challenging for our family. Without going into too much detail, I recently experienced a missed miscarriage that resulted into an incomplete miscarriage and a class 2 hemorrhage, which required emergency care. I’m grateful to be recovering and for all of the prayers and support we’ve gotten, but the situation has created unexpected financial strain during an already difficult time. We were financially stable and even saving to buy our own home until everything hit us at once.
Shortly after, our car broke down. A friend generously gave us a replacement, but the brakes are locking up and it isn’t safe to drive until repaired, which is currently being worked on.
My husband was laid off unexpectedly after being with the company for 4 years, and although he has found a new job, we are still waiting on his official start date. I also have a job interview coming up, but I’m not sure when I would begin working if I’m hired. In the meantime, we’re relying on our savings, but it isn’t much and it goes fast. We’re working hard to stay afloat, but having all of these emergencies happen at once has left us very overwhelmed. We’re hoping to raise money to cover urgent expenses, medical bills, and necessities while we get back on our feet.
Asking for help isn’t easy for us. It’s something I’ve always struggled with and try to avoid doing, and this was not an easy decision to make. We’ve tried to handle everything on our own without asking for help out of fear of what people might think, but we are just two young parents doing our best through a very difficult season. Sometimes life puts you in a position where you can’t do everything alone, and we’re choosing to believe in the strength of community and we are trusting God through all of this.
Any support, whether through a donation, sharing this, or keeping us in your prayers, would mean so much to our family as we work toward stability again. We are also doing everything we can on our own, including selling items around our home that we no longer use. In addition, we’re willing to work for extra income where possible, including cleaning houses, detailing cars, pet sitting, or babysitting. I have references available, and I am CPR and First Aid certified with experience in both childcare and house cleaning.
