As many of you know, my husband Dan dedicated 30 years of his life as a paramedic, serving others in their most critical moments. After the tragic events of October 1, 2017, in Las Vegas, he felt called to make a change. While he remained in healthcare, he transitioned into a leadership role as an EMS Director for a local hospital group here in Las Vegas.

In August 2025, Dan unexpectedly lost his job. Although he qualified for unemployment, we have only received one payment. Despite his consistent efforts—calling weekly for months—we’ve been given no clear answers as to why his benefits have not continued. We also applied for assistance with health insurance and food, but were told that my income alone disqualified us.

Through every challenge, we have held tightly to our faith, trusting that God has a greater plan for our family. With each interview and each “no,” we’ve prayed for guidance, believing that closed doors were simply leading us closer to the right one.

On Friday, April 24th, we finally received that “yes.” Dan was offered a position with the Department of Emergency Management in Tallahassee, Florida.

Since accepting the offer, we’ve begun the next steps, which include completing a background check, fingerprinting, and a drug test in Florida. The timeline has moved quickly—they are asking him to complete everything as soon as possible and relocate by June 1st. While this is sooner than we anticipated, we are embracing this opportunity with hope and faith.

After taking time to pray and seek clarity, we truly feel that God is opening doors and guiding us in this new direction. Many of our friends and family encouraged us to create this GoFundMe as a way to support us during this transition.

We are deeply grateful for any help you feel led to give. Dan has always been a devoted, hardworking husband and father. For years, he worked long hours—often six days a week, picking up overtime and extra jobs—so I could stay home and raise our boys when they were younger.
