My name is Faisal Abu Salim, a Palestinian from Gaza. I graduated in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Palestine. Since the war began, I have continued working in humanitarian response, supporting displaced families and managing data for food-assistance and hot-meals programmes. This experience showed me how accurate data and effective management can directly improve people’s lives, which inspired me to apply for the MSc Data Analytics and Human Resource Management at the University of Leeds. My dream is to develop the skills needed to strengthen humanitarian organisations, improve how assistance reaches vulnerable communities, and contribute to Gaza’s recovery and rebuilding.

I have received an unconditional offer and a £6,000 International Excellence Scholarship, but I still need to secure the remaining £26,250 in tuition fees.

I have set up this fundraising page to help my friend achieve his scholarship goal so that he can take up his deserved place at Leeds University. Faisal’s goal, as you can see involves something that reaches far beyond his passion to complete a masters degree. By gaining his place at Leeds, his hopes and dreams are focused around helping his community and using his education as a means of further strengthening his abilities to help in a humanitarian mission and work towards rebuilding his homeland.
