Who We Are
Fairmont Austin has been honored to serve the community and turn moments into memories that last a lifetime for our guests. We are the largest hotel property in Austin and the place you go to celebrate, to dine, to relax, and to share major milestones with friends and family. Beyond providing rooms, food, beverage and spa, our main motivation is creating special memories for our guests, colleagues and community.
Who Needs Your Help
A majority of our 800+ colleagues have been furloughed or had hours reduced as a result of this Covid-19 crisis. The impact of this has critically impacted the livelihood of our colleagues and their families and they need help during this challenging time. We are a tight-knit group of passionate, hardworking individuals, who strive to care for others day after day. We are the faces you see throughout your visit, who above all, strive to make you feel recognized, valued and comfortable.
Current Situation
The hospitality industry has been devastated by this pandemic. In response to official ordinances, major business has been lost in Austin due to cancellations, ranging from citywide events like SXSW to large conference groups and peak travel period reservations. The temporary closure of our four restaurants, spa, and low occupancy in the hotel has had a severe impact on all of our dedicated employees.
What We Are Doing for Our Employees
Fairmont Austin remains open with the support of a limited team onsite to be available for essential travel. We are striving to keep colleagues on schedule when possible and the hotel is paying 100% of our employees' medical benefits through the end of May. Despite this, our associates truly need additional support in order to provide for their families.
How You Can Help
We recognize our Fairmont colleagues as family. We want to ensure our family members don’t go hungry. Our goal is to provide meal supplies to colleagues in order to help sustain their households over the next two months. 100% of donations will go directly to the Fairmont Austin Employee Family Meal Relief Fund, assisting employees in danger of losing housing and other essential resources by helping keep their family fed.
For every $20 donated, we can feed a family of four.
