Fairmile Ward REH Purple Butterfly Project
We are a group of staff that work in Fairmile Ward at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. We care for Ladies who have or are under assessment for a diagnosis of dementia.
Our Purple Butterfly Project is to support families who have a loved one that is receiving end of life care while on the ward. We are fundraising to make a difference to the support we can provide families while they are going through this. We hope to raise funds to buy a fold out bed, this will allow for a loved one to stay overnight with their relative or friend during end of life care.
We are also hoping to buy items like toiletries, snacks, sheets and anything else that can provide support and comfort during a difficult time.
Fairmile Ward is working with NHS Lothian Charity, and all donations will go towards our ward directly.
In order to raise funds, we have signed up to complete the Kelpies experience. The Kelpies Experience is the first ever guided aerial exploration of the world largest equine sculptures. Embark on an exhilarating climb to the horses mouth via a network of cables, ladders and suspended platforms. Then, feel the thrill as you descend with a free-hanging abseil or the breathtaking Quick Flight rope drop! Climb inside these iconic sculptures and uncover the history and stories behind this magnificent artwork.
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of NHS Lothian Charity and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
