Please support our outsourced rail RMT members working for Carlisle Support Services left with no other option than to take Industrial action against their employers failure to offer any pay award for the second year running, despite the spiralling cost of living increases. These RMT members have now been frozen out from all further pay negotiations leaving them facing a second year running without any negotiated pay rise. This is something they can’t and won’t accept without an Industrial reponse from the RMT.

These hardworking frontline rail workers are forced into working long hours due to low pay, they are forced into coming to work when unwell due to no sick pay scheme, they are working under the poorest terms and conditions in the rail industry whilst many are reliant on pay day loan schemes offered by their employer to get by from month to month. This intolerable position these members have been left in leaves them with no other option than to defend against further savage cuts imposed on them by an employer with no concern for the welfare of its employees. Their only concern is creaming off further private profit from the racket of the rail outsourcing model where no doubt many of their Directors and Share holders enjoy whopping pay rises and huge dividends year on year whilst wiping their hands of any financial reward for their hard working employees.

The scourge of outsourcing on the railway has sadly led to a two tier pay scale where we now witness many outsourced contract workers earning far less per hour than those directly employed by the rail operators doing exactly the same job. This is an attack that we need to defend against from today until our members receive the pay justice they deserve, however long that may take.
