Dan suffered with back pain for years. His prior doctor did nothing when Dan told him it was getting worse, just increased his pain meds. Finally Dr cut off pain pills when law changed (cold turkey after 7+ years). I took him to an urgent care, they ordered MRI, still assuming it's the back. Saw surgeon, pain management, no help. His rheumatologist ordered a CT scan when we noticed his liver was enlarged. Eventually we got correct diagnosis, cholangiocarcinoma, primary liver cancer (and non alcoholic cirrhosis). The larger tumor was 10cm, pushing on his spine. The official diagnosis came January 29, 2019. He went downhill gradually first week, but then it went fast, way too fast. He passed away Saturday February 16th with his wife and 3 sons at his side. No life insurance, no disability (approved but amount is $0 due to how we filed taxes the last few years). We lost a lot of income in the past couple months as he was getting too weak and I needed to take care of him. Of course now his income is gone forever. I've been paying essential bills, water, rent, electrical, food and gas, phone. Credit cards are all maxed and months behind. His debts are not a concern, our accounts were not joint. Our vehicles all in his name, I'm letting one get repossessed, don't need it now anyway. I don't have anyone to turn to for financial help so this is my last, my only option. Every dollar will make a difference, even 50cents. Please help if you can.
