Failed fusion leads to emergency surgery.

Hi, my name is Anicka West. A year and a half ago I had to get a 4 disc fusion in my neck. I did all of the physical therapy I was supposed to do but it never seemed to heal. I lost my job of 8 years and the insurance and short term disability that came with it. Every time I had a follow-up appointment with my surgeon he said my exrays looked good and he didn't know why I was still in pain. I tried getting another job. Thought I was going to be able to handle it. Kept it for 6 months, but eventually it became too much. This past May I was let go because I couldn't keep up with the rest of the line. I hurt more every day. I was experiencing severe numbness and tingling in my fingers. I wasn't steady on my feet. I couldn't reach above my head to put things away or even put my hair in a ponytail. I was going downhill fast and I was scared Finally I figured I'd give it 1 more try with my surgeon so I called a couple weeks ago and got an appointment for last Tuesday, October 4th. They did the routine exrays to start then asked me a few questions, followed up with some normal strength and reflex tests. After all that they went and looked over my exrays. Usually that's when the appointment is over but this time was different. They came back in our room with a neck brase and strict instructions to go straight to the Parkview emergency room where they are going to do a katscan and an MRI followed by emergency surgery They were genuinely scared for me. They said my neck was so bad that 1 wrong slip or fall and I could be paralyzed. Come to find out 2 out of the 4 previous fusions did not fuse and one of my disc's had completely disintegrated which led to a spinel fracture. First thing Wednesday morning they went in through the front to try to repair as much as they could and I go back in Monday October 10th for another surgery so he can go in through the back and put a cage around it to stabilize everything. I've filed for disability but haven't got any answers yet so my bills are all falling behind.
