For years we’ve received feedback from viewers asking for a follow up documentary to The Last Apostle. After careful consideration we’ve decided to launch crowdfunding of a new film with a production date of spring 2024.
Join us on Dr. Fairchild's next adventure!
The Project:
We're embarking on an incredible journey to safeguard the untold stories and artifacts of Turkey's ancient wonders in a groundbreaking documentary, Fading Treasure. Follow real-life Indiana Jones, Dr. Mark Fairchild, and experience sites seen by very few people in this world as we highlight the major threats these historical sites face.
The Mission:
Turkey, a cradle of civilizations, holds secrets buried in its remote corners. Dr. Fairchild has explored over 500 ancient sites, many untouched and forgotten. We're set to bring these hidden gems to life and bring awareness to these sites before they’re gone forever.
If funded, our goal is to begin production spring of 2024, and have the film completed by fall 2025 to begin the film festival circuit.
Protecting Our Heritage:
These unprotected sites disappear year after year. By documenting their beauty and significance we aim to raise awareness, urging the world to join us in preserving this rich history.
Threats Unveiled:
Delve deeper into the challenges these sites face—from black-market excavations, terrorism, natural disasters, and geopolitical pressures. Your support will enable us to shed light on these risks, advocating for the protection of these invaluable treasures.
Immersive Footage:
With 4K cameras and aerial shots from drones, we'll capture the beauty of Turkey's ancient landscapes like never before. Join us on a visual journey through time, from the Stone Age to the early Christian church, the Byzantine era, and modern day.
How You Can Help:
Your contribution will make this documentary a reality—crowdfunding is the only way movies like this can be created. Help us cover production costs, travel expenses, and equipment to create a visually stunning and historically rich film.
We've determined the $20k amount, in which GoFundMe takes a fee, is the minimum needed to guarantee a documentary is produced. It allows us to pay for travel/lodging for the film crew, Dr. Fairchild, and a Turkish guide. Additional costs will go towards needs like site entry fees, location permits, stock footage/music permissions, a composer, motion graphics, and film festival submission fees.
Note: no raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or promotions are offered in exchange for any donations made to GoFundMe.
Spread the Word:
Share this campaign with fellow history enthusiasts, friends, and family. The more people who know about our mission, the greater impact we can make in preserving this history.
Join Us on the Journey:
By supporting our film you're not just funding a documentary—you're preserving history. Dr. Fairchild has explored Turkey for 25 years, and each year he returns to find more artifacts are lost. This film is a crucial first step in shedding light on these endangered sites. Let's make this adventure possible together! Donate, share, and be part of preserving our heritage and the world's treasure.

The Last Apostle Reviews:
- I will never read the book of Acts the same! I’m now blessed with a beautiful visual of the travels of Paul’s early ministry. Dr Fairchild and team do an excellent job of pulling together history, archeology, and the cultural and physical beauty of Turkey. I’m eagerly awaiting another documentary from Dr Fairchild! (Hope that’s a possibility?)
- This is the most amazingly beautiful documentary I have seen in a long time!
- This will trigger your sense of adventure!
- The honest truth is that it’s excellently done and takes you to places most humans have never seen. My bet is that you find it incredibly interesting and free from the labels a few have tried to attach. Have fun.
- I didn't know at the beginning if I would watch it all but at the end I wanted more and more of this type of adventure.
- It’s amazing how history is being found and proven on adventures like this. I hope there will be more documentaries showing more of his travels and historical finds. This is one I will watch multiple times!
- My heart is still about to burst this afternoon! I’ve never experienced such discovery as I did last night when watching the journeys of Dr. Fairchild and his companions in this marvelous documentary. I’ve been a student of God’s word for 42 years; yet, until last night I truly had no understanding of what Paul’s reality was as he ministered to people.
- It covered a lot of ground and left me wishing that there was more effort put into shows like this rather than the sensationalized treasure hunting that has taken become prevalent. Please do more of this!
- It's remarkable that someone took the time to document all of these discoveries, let alone put a professional documentary together to tell the story.
- Great example of perseverance, passion, and genuine curiosity.
- I’m at a loss for words to describe how much Dr. Fairchild’s work has filled in so many blanks for me. The Bible literally just came alive for me. [...] This documentary is a game changer. I think everybody should see this!!!
- The video takes you on a journey few will ever get the privilege to take. I look forward to a sequel.
- What an enjoyable documentary to watch. It's stories like these that we need more of... History, education, faith. Pillars of society that seem long gone in today's times. Well done to all who put this together.
- Wander around Turkey with American professor Mark Fairchild, following the trail of St. Paul on his first missionary journey. Gorgeous scenery, mostly-intact Roman roads, the world's oldest synagogue, and more! I learned a lot, and best of all, now I am inspired to find out more.
