My name is Karynda D. Ibarra. Professionally, I am known as Karynda D.

As a teen and in my twenties, I was able to work as an in-home child care provider. Now, I have the opportunity to combine my passion and work with children. This has led me to specialize in salon services for all types of children and adults. I focus on providing the best service experience for my clientele, particularly children. My reputation for patience with children has allowed me to work closely with them and their families. I have also welcomed the individuals who provide therapy for children and adults with disabilities, so they may become comfortable and work through their services in my salon. Many of my clientele and families are from my previous salon employment of 9 years, including adults, teens, and children. In 2017, I became an Independent Contractor under Faded & Styles by Karynda, and later established my own salon, "Faded and Styled Family Salon," in 2018.

I am seeking funding in order to maintain the current location of Faded & Styled Family Hair Salon, located in Vacaville, CA. The funding would assist me in rent and utilities, add an additional station to ensure ADA compliance, make necessary improvements such as covering the outlets, some plumbing, electrical fixtures inside, and lighting outside of the salon door for the safety of me and my clientele when updating equipment, and make essential repairs to improve the space. All of this would benefit my clientele. I have been able to welcome back a lot of children and families returning after the COVID-19 shutdown, and more recently, new clientele and families. I believe there's more I can do in my community.

My salon is equipped with metal pedal cars, styling chairs, and various safety measures to accommodate children and clients with special needs. I work by appointment to ensure each client receives the necessary time and attention. I have developed strategies to minimize distractions and overstimulation during services for children with sensory issues, autism, or Down Syndrome.
