Hi everyone, can you help us find a new place to call home for the holiday? My name is Naomie. I am reaching out for help on behalf of myself and my family. I’m a single parent of two and a caregiver for my 79-yr-old mother, and my sister with Down syndrome. Neither one of them receives any government assistance and their care falls on my shoulders where I am completely responsible for their needs. There are five of us living in a two bedroom apartment. Recently, I was awakened by the sound of rain and discovered the rain wasn’t outside. Yellow sewage water had pierced through my living room ceiling. I ran for the buckets to collect the sewage water. When the plumber finally arrived, there were three buckets full. The wet popcorn ceiling, which may contain asbestos, a known carcinogen, fell to the floor. I am very scared for my family. At the moment, we are going through an eviction process after the landlord refused payment from an organization, who tried to pay the past due amount in order to prevent my family from becoming homeless. My goal was to stay, but due to the conflict with the landlord and terrifying living issues, I have decided to relocate. We have exhausted all other options, so a GoFundMe campaign is our last hope to avoid becoming homeless. Won’t you please help my family stay housed? We hope to raise enough money to pay off our outstanding rent and find a new place to call home. The fund will be used to pay pass due rent and down payment and at least six months rent for a new place to call home. Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your kind generosity. Respectfully,
