Bumps in the road update follows,
Original post below.
Shabbat shalom mishpachah! I hope this finds you blessed and restful. We have hit some bumps in the road family, as it’s 2 weeks until court for our son and we still don’t have a vehicle. We haven’t quite made our goal on here yet, but even when I prayed for how much to ask for we didn’t know our car was about to die and be left behind. It cost the $12,000 to get here and pay the deposit, which left us with $6000 and change. After a month of living, working, buying a couch and paying this month’s rent we still have $2000 which is amazing! But it’s not enough for a vehicle or to get us to court on the 25th and then still have rent after both of us missing a week of work from being in Virginia. We don’t want to risk any of this blessing by either missing court or rent, so we were hoping if anyone feels led, to spread the word and share the GoFundMe again, and update folks on the situation. Also, we just got an email from our lawyer 2 days ago dropping us as clients. So we are now all of sudden heading into court that day biblically, delivered up to the magistrates, with no testimony prepared, and no representation other than Abba Yah, who will undoubtedly have the Spirit speak through us just as He promises to in scripture. We are so close and it’s been one hurdle after another, but Abba has us in His hands, I know He’s got this. Love you heaps beyond words

Shalom family, we have been hit with another curve ball from HaSatan: we have 2 weeks to vacate our home, as our lease is expiring and our land lord has decided against our original agreement of either taking our rent payments as a down payment and selling to us, or continuing month to month, in order to sell for a much higher price. With no warning and absolutely nothing saved, we are at risk of becoming homeless. We are ashamed and fearful of your judgement to ask for help again so soon, but with the custody of our son at stake, we cannot afford to be proud, we must have a home for him.
We have been blessed by Yah with work here now, Michael found a good carpentry job, and I am still waiting tables, but there is nothing we can afford in the immediate area let alone anywhere in the state at this point, we have no fellowship with other believers whatsoever, and all of our neighbors are now AirBnB’s. So we see this as a push from the Most High to flee California.
It all seemed impossible, so I prayed and prayed, impossible is Yah’s specialty. Guided by the Ruach HaQodesh, we started looking for affordable housing in states better suited to a Christian lifestyle. For several weeks we applied for places everywhere from Colorado to Tennessee, to no avail. Then, of all the random places, a kind man named Tom Kubiak in Muskegon, Michigan was the only landlord who replied. We spoke at length and shared our story, turned out his son had recently left California for Arizona, and even though he had over 200 applications, has decided to offer US the house. We never even thought or dreamed of Michigan as an option, but maybe that’s how you know it’s Abba’s work. This is truly a miracle, and if we can raise the money, it would be a life-changing opportunity to live a better life for our son.
He is asking a slightly higher deposit, and a letter from any contributors from the church as confirmation of funds, which is completely understandable seeing as we are coming from so far with no permanent jobs there yet. He is taking a huge risk for absolutely no reason, we were honestly afraid no one would even rent to us. Miracle!
So here is the breakdown of the funds needed:
$5000 for a 15ft Uhaul, one-way with tow for our hatchback.
$1450x2 plus $725 as deposit and first months rent: $3625 total
Approximately $2000 for gas (1 tank for a 15ft Uhaul= 40 gallons= 400miles= $160 to fill up x4 times a day= $640/day x 3 days (30 hour drive) = $1920)
2 nights in hotels on the road: $200
Food and supplies for 3 days drive: $300
Total for the move: $11,125
The rest of the funds above that, if raised, would be a 2 month buffer, rent and expenses, to ensure we have enough time to re-establish ourselves properly without risking missing rent or bill payments.
Y’all would be saving our family from homelessness, and getting us off this awful coast, there are no words to express that kind of gratitude. Our home would be open to any of you in a time of need, or any time! All we desire is a safe place to worship Yahshua and raise our son in His ways, and be able to finally give back. This all seems crazy to even ask! But I have prayed and prayed and Abba has answered in every confirmative way. So HalleluYah, Praise be to He, and we love you all forever in Messiah no matter what happens.
Come what may, let me be able to say, it is well with my soul!
