Facing Eviction and Need Your Help

My partner and I are about to be homeless.

Here's the story.

Last year, we were kicked out of our living situation due to rent prices rising and my partner losing their job. We were forced to take the first apartment we could that was close enough to my job so I could get there without any issues.

Our current apartment was expensive but doable. Around this time, I had a work injury and was placed on disability. It became even more of a struggle, but we've been able to pay rent and bills by the skin of our teeth every month.

The only catch was that we had to lie to our current apartment and say only one of us was living in the room. They wanted to charge us an extra $500 a month to remain together, or I would have to sleep in my car.

Our roommates at the time didn't care, and we made it work. I began to love my roommates and apartment, even if it was a little expensive.

Our current roommates are having to move. Anxiously, we told the new ones our circumstances and that we couldn't afford to have me on the lease.

One of them was fine with it; the other said she was uncomfortable with another person sharing the space. She also had an issue with our other new roomie having a dog. So, she went to the leasing office and reported us.

We tried to explain to management that we would be homeless, but they didn't care. We found a new place, but it's an additional $300 a month.

I'm allergic to wheat and have Celiac; eating is incredibly difficult for me, but now with the added expense, I don't think I can afford it. We applied for food stamps and other aid.

But I'm currently here asking for moving help. My partner's car was recently impounded for having expired tags we weren't aware of, and we had to pay $500+ to get it out. This happened at the beginning of this month, only days before being told we were going to get evicted.

So, I'm here asking for moving expenses, food money, really anything to help us get by and make all of this a little more affordable.

We have to be out by the 1st and it's the 9th. We need a U-Haul the most. If anyone is willing to donate, we would greatly appreciate it.

This is awful. Last year, we ran into a similar issue and needed help, but this year it's so much worse. Thank you for any help you can provide.
