Hi, my name is Chel, and I’m raising funds for my family as we navigate an ongoing medical crisis and eviction from our home.
The funds will be used for housing either to pay the rent off if we raise enough money before eviction date or to pay for hotel and to find another place to rent!
In June, my husband became seriously ill and was hospitalized for six weeks with sepsis, which caused him to lose his job. Since then, he has been in and out of the hospital dealing with stage 5 kidney failure and dialysis complications. Throughout the summer, I continued working while caring for our baby, Krewz, who is now 9 months old.
Our household income dropped from two incomes to one overnight. My job is primarily seasonal, and by November my income had largely ended for the season. My husband recently started working part-time at a sporting's good store. While we are so grateful for the opportunity, the reality is he is not healthy enough to be working, and it is taking a toll on his body.
There were also serious disruptions in his medical care, including an involuntary discharge that now has forced him to go without dialysis for weeks until the toxins build up in his body and he has to go to the ER. In August, he had so much fluid on his lungs he stopped breathing and was intubated for a week.
We are asking for help with basic living expenses, medical and transportation costs, and keeping a roof over our heads while he continues treatment.
We are deeply grateful to the friends and loved ones who have already helped us through this—your support has meant everything. Any debts will be repaid as soon as we are able.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our family during this incredibly difficult time.
