Having my first child, Chude - who I call Faith's Child, receive the diagnosis of autism could have been devastating; but out of it has come great understanding and purpose in caring for others who are differently able.

Having her son, Joshua, who was diagnosed with Down's Syndrome, pass away at a tender age could have derailed Pastor Kemi Ogiemudia and her family; but it set her on course to make a difference in the lives of so many through the Larger Than I Foundation.

LTIDF is a non-governmental organization providing educational, vocational services to children and families of children with special needs. Based in Yenegoa, Bayelsa. They

— support families with members living with disabilities irrespective of their age-group.

— provide health benefits for kids with special needs.

— offer scholarship opportunities on all levels for children with special needs.

— provide periodic therapy sessions (including the Applied Behaviour Analysis) for the children with special needs inside and outside their special school.

LTIDF’s vision is to ensure that children aged 0-12 years with physical, mental and sensory challenges overcome socio-cultural and religious stigma in order to live up to their full potential and be fully integrated into society.
