Facial Reconstruction For Cricket

UPDATE: You can read more of the story in the updates section, but Cricket has gotten her second surgery and is recovering well! However unfortunately we discovered there was more work that needed to be done than initially expected and she'll need a 3rd surgery to remove the wire from her jaw as well as remove the 4 remaining broken teeth of 8. This has brought the total we need raised up quite a bit. I know we can do it though! Again I want to thank everyone for being so supportive and getting us far past our original goal. That helped a ton when things turned out to be a lot more than we could have predicted. Cricket gives you all many purrs in appreciation.

 

A few days ago our cat, Cricket, disappeared. We finally managed to find her hiding in a bush in the neighbors yard, but it was obvious something attacked her in the time she had been gone. Most of the flesh on her lower jaw isn't just detached, but entirely missing. In addition, what little flesh is left is very infected. Some quick surgery was done to at least clear up the area, but there's still exposed bone with no way to cover it so Cricket will need to be seen by a more specialized vet to help hopefully reconstruct her lower jaw.

 

This has all amounted to a lot more than I can afford. I'm currently looking at about $5,000 to cover the first $2,000 surgery that's already been done and another $3,000 for further reconstruction to hopefully finally seal the wound and cover the bone. She may need more surgeries and vet visits down the road, but for now we're starting here. Anything at all helps, even just spreading the word. Thank you everyone for your support so far.
