Hi, my name is Ash, and I'm a 31-year-old transgender woman. Getting facial feminization surgery is a huge step for many trans women and will be a massive improvement in my quality of life. Unfortunately, it's very rarely covered by insurance, even in the rare cases where a surgeon is willing to accept insurance. Even then, there aren't that many surgeons who are experts in the field. I have already started the process and have found a surgeon and booked a window in which to have my surgery. Out-of-pocket, the whole process would end up costing close to $32,000; even with insurance, my out-of-pocket cost is going to be nearly $10,000. I have a portion of the funds saved up, as this is something that I have been wanting to do for a very long time and I have been preparing for it, but any additional help would be appreciated.
