NHS: PPE for East Berkshire & North London Staff
We are raising money to provide face shields for NHS staff in hospitals in Windsor and Ealing. The teams lack critical PPE whilst trying to fight this crisis for all of us. It has been amazing to see the level of heartfelt energy generated in just 5 days. As a response, we’ve been asked to increase the breadth of support being offered to East Berkshire Primary Care and broader hospitals in North London. Dr Walia is leading the provision of PPE to the East Berks Primary care GP surgeries, COVID-19 assessment clinics and testing centres. Dr Walia has now extended this with the help of her team to nursing residential and learning disability homes within East Berkshire. The teams on the ground have been overwhelmed by the level and rapidity of response. So far, the funds have been used for over 3000 face shields, 100 protective white suits, and 100 FFP masks. 1000 have been delivered on Friday 10th April to Local HCWs who are working on the frontline with COVID assessment centres in Windsor, Bracknell, Slough and Maidenhead. - 350 face shields were delivered on Sunday 12th April to Ealing hospital - 400 face shields were delivered on Monday 13th April to Northwick Park hospital - 400 face shields were delivered to Ealing Hospital on Thursday 16th April The teams on the ground have really appreciated the support - and we will be updating the site with photos and images of thanks. We are looking to further support local services, including mental health Crisis teams; care homes and continued support to local GPs and hospital staff at North West Thames hospital trusts.
Any surplus PPE will continue to be distributed to other hospitals.
