Fabric Printing Tables for Class!

Hi everyone, my name is Dana Wisbar. I recently was offered the opportunity to teach a class on textile printing at Mission Grafica in San Francisco, CA. Mission Grafica is a non-profit, community-run print studio committed to serving the Mission District and Bay Area communities, offering low-cost and bilingual courses taught by local artists. They teach almost every kind of print technique available. While Mission Grafica has everything needed to print t-shirts with plastisol, or any print technique on paper, they don't currently have the materials for printing textiles with dyes, which requires large plywood pieces covered in industrial felt and canvas. I have been compiling a list of materials I would need to get textile printing off the ground at Mission Grafica, including but not limited to: building the tabletops, dyes to get students started, soda ash, buckets for dye, pins, and other implements to stir dyes and handle fabric. I am willing to pay for some of this out of pocket. But I hope to gain some support from the large community to help pay for some of these materials. Of course, the most significant expense is the tabletops themselves. Still, I would like to provide some support in terms of materials to keep the cost of class materials down in the initial stages to make the class more accessible. Any support you the reader could provide would be most welcome!

Thank you for your time and support!

Best regards,

Dana Wisbar
