Would you like to help provide the kids of our community, whom we'll soon rely on, with a cutting-edge approach to help growing minds manage their energy and classroom location to their preference?
Flexible seating gives children an appropriate way to move and stay engaged in their learning.
In addition to that, they are able to discover themselves as a learner. This will help them throughout their school career and as they become a life-long learner.
For this project, we are asking for a variety of seating options; hokki chairs, lap desks, balance disks, and wiggle bands for the bottom of chairs and desks. Students will have the opportunity to explore each one and see which type of seating option helps them engage in learning. From there, they will have control over their learning environment, teaching them responsibility and appropriate ways to stay engaged in the task at hand.
This will help our classroom environments be conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.
We have piloted this program in one of our first grade classrooms and already see the benefits in students' enthusism to be in class, focus on their assignments and the effort they put forth. We are excited for our students to take control of their learning environment and become an integral part of their learning journey.
The $2500 will go directly towards seating tools for each first grade classroom. If we go over that amount the money will be used for additional seating tools as well as organizational aides.
Thank you for supporting our students as they grow to be life-long learners.
