Hi. My name is Kim Rager and my siblings and I are fundraising for our wonderful sister Kelly Tongamana, who was recently diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma.

Kelly is one of those rare people who have given their life over to public service and caring for others. She has been an elementary teacher her entire life and chose to work in a low income, underserved community where she has made a huge impact on her students and peers. She often has prior students coming to her to let her know they are a doctor, teacher, business manager... in a large part because of her.

Our hearts broke when we learned she has pleural mesothelioma - Lung cancer due to asbestos. This is a very rare disease and it has taken time to properly diagnose it. She is undergoing chemotherapy and will require surgery. Although she has health insurance, it has become rapidly apparent that the out-of-pocket costs are more than she can cover on her teacher's salary. It will become even harder if she has to take extensive time off from work. Please help support her as she goes through this extremely difficult time.
