Sayjen and Braxton's Guatemala trip

Donation protected
This summer, following our wedding, Braxton and I have decided to devote our time living on mission in Antigua, Guatemala for three weeks this July!

God calls all of us to serve the weak, the poor, and the brokenhearted.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27

Lately, Braxton and I have felt the impression of this calling like never before.  We sat down to think about all of our blessings and abilties that we have here in America, and prayed about clarity in what ways we could share these things with others, as we both have big hearts for missions overseas. When we really dug deep into what the Gospel calls us to do and began to consider our possibilities, we thought,  "What's really stopping us from going?" The time is never not right to live out Jesus' final commandment- to make disciples and to love your neighbor. So that's what we're going to do!

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20

While in Guatemala, we will be serving throught the God's Child Project in malnutrition centers, schools, orphanages, homeless shelters, and will participate in home building in the rural villages of Antigua, where most families do not know the comforts of a home with solid floors, sturdy walls, or even a door. Braxton and I are looking forward to hands-on work that will test our bodies, our minds, and our spirits because we know that serving others in Christ's name is the most generous gift we can give.

The costs of this trip are estimated to be around $5,000 total for travel, daily living expenses, activities, and processing fees through the God's Child Project. These funds must be accounted for before June 20th. All extra funds collected will be donated to either provide beds for the  houses built in Guatemalan villages, or to be donated to the malnutrition center, orphanages, or schools.

When our hearts are aligned with God's mission, nothing is impossible, and this we know and have seen in our very own lives. We would be so blessed to have you help us in our mission, and ultimately, to help us help the impoverished people of Guatemala. We will accept any amount you feel called to give, and would love your prayers as we give our lives to the Lord and the people of Guatemala.
