Bringing Back Our Sam
Our Sam is many things: loyal as a Labrador, he is friend to many. He is our son; step-son; cousin; nephew; uncle; artist; joker; wanna-be pirate; lover of dogs, books and a good sandwich. He fiercely loves his life and has been very ill, skirting its outermost edge. Thankfully, he’d been oh-so-meticulously guided back to us by a team of warrior doctors and nurses in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and is now in Fairview Medical Center in Minneapolis. There have been good days and bad. Finally in Minneapolis, he's had to have a few procedures, so far successful. Once released, he'll have home health care until it's time to enter a program to help Sam shape his new life. It’s going to take a lot of heavy lifting, love and support from all of us.
Sam was helping a friend move when he was laid low, so he was being treated 600 miles from his home and family, in St. Louis. After 28 days on a respirator, he spent his birthday sitting up and breathing on his own: a triumph.
Your donations will go toward the cost of treatment and therapies to support his recovery. We have had so much love beamed our way we cannot begin to thank you.
