For me, receiving a Stage 4 Stomach Cancer diagnosis in February 2017 was devastating yet I knew something was terribly wrong for quit some time.   I had been in and out of ER’s, throwing up multiple times a day, spent many of restless nights in pain, placed on numerous medications, yet strangely enough I was equally comforted knowing what in the heck was going on inside my body. I decided to keep the news to myself for 24 hours so I could process everything. I had to figure out how I was going to tell my family, friends and co-workers.   I knew mine and my family’s life at that very moment was going to change drastically.

It was such an  incredibly painful and emotional step to look my daughters in their eyes to tell them about my diagnosis. I also had to muster up the strength to tell parents, former husband, family and friends.  My mother had received a “remission” status from renal cancer the same week I was diagnosed. Seeing their pain, sorrow and sadness was incredibly hard to experience. I went into what I call an out of body experience; I was ready to take cancer on and go outside of my comfort zone.  I went into research mode, looking for any and all Eastern & Western medicine treatments/modalities. I was so incredibly overwhelmed with an array of emotions and thoughts running through my mind.  I have never been an advocate of chemotherapy.  HOWEVER, since I was originally diagnosed at Stage 2 then two weeks later I was restaged to Stage 4, I knew if I wanted to overcome this I had to quickly change my mindset and embrace what I was about to experience.  Therefore, I proceeded with chemotherapy and I also followed a holistic supplement regimen and diet.   I was taking daily chemo pills and every three weeks going in for three additional types of chemo intravenously.  I could literally feel my body fighting and I must say going into a chemo room was so very depressing yet humbling too. I felt grateful to have such loving, compassionate and incredibly talented professionals on my team.  I am equally grateful to those who supported me during chemotherapy. I found myself that during these months I was being crippled with emotions, as the support I was looking for was not what showed up.  It was at this time that I knew I needed to also work on my emotional well being if I wanted to preserver.  The people who showed up on this part of my journey have helped me to in profoundly changing my overall well-being.  Gratitude doesn’t even touch the surface to all of them.

My chemotherapy treatments ended in July 2017, I later had a hysterectomy and during this time the doctors did a biopsy.  I received my results from that test in November 2017.  The results stated that there was “NO curative medication nor any clinical trials available at this time”.In other words, traditional, western medicine had no other options for me. Fortunately, I was already on a holistic regimen and going deeper into Eastern medicine, learning more about how to live everyday with a terminal illness.   I believe  there’s always a silver lining to everything, if you’re paying attention.

Earlier this year, I visited an Ashram in Sonoma, California where I met my guru, Baba Harihar Ramji where I learned more about yoga, nutrition, mindfulness and I was given a simple mantra to go further into my mediation practice.  I had this gut feeling that my life was going to yet again change.  I later visited the Ashram again last month where I met with my guru who provided more insight on self care and serving others as a means to self love.  Babji gave me a deeper Mantra specifically for me.   His wisdom, sense of calm and love for all was so moving.  He explained to me what my mantra meant and I was so moved with how powerful this was for me.  I learned so much about myself, serving others and being present.

I feel honored to be able to share some of this journey with you, and reveal, some of what I have learned along my way back to health!  If you have a Disease, "Dis-Ease" within your body, I highly recommend you  google, youtube research Metabolic Theory of Cancer , Travis Christofferson before start any sort of treatment.   You MUST be your own advocate.  His book Tripping over the Truth: How the Metabolic theory of Cancer is Overturning One of Medicine's Most Entrenched Paradigms.    100% of his proceeds go towards research.

1.   Meditation, Mantra and Mindfulness: How we speak to ourselves, not just our illness, holds immense value toward our overall health. In our current society, with all its myriad of illnesses, mental and physical, learning to quiet our minds has so much value and is essential to learn, preferably earlier in life, but never too late. www.sonomaashram.org

2. Yoga and Walking: My current modes of daily exercise. Yoga is not just an athletic practice, it’s a way of being, on and off the mat. And walking mediations are also becoming a personal favorite of mine.

3. Ling Qui International Healing QiQong School: A type of Chinese medicine that I’ve been using to learn about proper nutrition, particularly, as it relates to abdominal healing. I currently practice twice a week. www.lingqui.org

 This is another MUST watch.

4. Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBOT): The research on the benefits of this modality is growing, and as such, so is the popularity and ability to gain access to HBOT in treatment of so many medical conditions. More info. as it becomes available.  www.thetruthaboutcancer.com/hyrbaric-oxygen therapy

5.  Glyconutrients: The most important discovery for your immune system, in the last 100 years, is something called glyconutrients.

Science and medicine have long tried to understand the code by which the cells in the body communicate with one another, in order for its complex functions to occur. For example, how does your digestive system know which food components to absorb into the blood stream and which to ignore?  Or which cells to attack and destroy and which to protect and nurture?  That code has now been broken.  This role is undertaken by glyconutrients.  Researchers proclaim it to be the most important discovery in the history of medicine. The key to a long, healthy life.   Reference:  www.glyconutrientsreference.com
