Last Thursday night, Kurt dislocated his knee and severed his artery chasing after a wiffle ball in a hotel parking lot. This happened in New Braunfels around 10pm and he was subsequently air lifted to University Hospital in San Antonio where he went into a 10 hour surgery. What original was suppose to be a 4 to 5 hour surgery, turned into 10 because the doctors had to graft veins out of his good leg to help repair the damage in his bad leg. Since then, Kurt has been heavily sedated in the ICU in San Antonio, and we are waiting to find out the extent of damage his muscle tissue endured from lack of blood flow caused by the severed artery. We know he will undergo another surgery to repair the rest of his knee.  However, a recent CT scan shows his lung is partially collapsed, and he has pneumonia. Once the respiratory issues are under control, they will schedule surgery for his knee. We ask that you all pray for the big guy, he will definitely need it in his long road to recovery.
