Grandma's House

A home is somewhere you feel safe and secure. It’s a place you can come home to after a long hard day and a place where you can spend time with family. On January 12, 2019 my mother lost the home where she felt safe, where she felt the most comfortable, and the one place she could call hers. That day started off like any normal day, but little did she know that what she was wearing that day would be all that was left of what she owned. Early in the morning, just past 9am, a fire destroyed her home. Everything that she owned and loved was quickly destroyed by the burning flames. I am grateful that everyone made it out safe, but the damage done was irreversible. The safe haven that we grew up in and could always return to no matter how much time had passed is now gone. In front of our eyes we not only watched a home burn but the memories and love that made that place a home fade away too.

I am creating this fund to help my mother Josefina Navarrete and all the other family members that lived in that house get back on their feet. This devastating fire left my family with the clothes on their backs and few scraps that were salvaged from the ashes. Hopefully, by creating this fund I can help my mother not just by providing her with the necessary necessities, but also by helping her return back home to that special place where she feels most comfortable in. Any donation is greatly appreciated by both myself and my family.

Thank you.
