Hi, my name is Carole Baskin and I need your help. Yes, that really is my name! You see, when the pandemic shut the world down I found my family. What time they didn’t spend watching Tiger King, they spent outdoors making memories in the safety of their yard. I was pretty scared of people, but these guys seemed like fun so I started to get closer and closer. My mom isn’t even a cat person, but she says I’m the best! Eventually they convinced me they would keep me safe, so I started coming by twice a day for meals. Before you knew it, I had my own heated house, lots of cat toys and endless cuddles. My baby brother decided to name me Carole Baskin, he was only 2, but I think he picked a good name.

My family is the best, they tried to convince me to stay inside with them forever, but I couldn’t stand to potty in that weird box they gave me so I would hold my bladder until I went to the door and cried to be let out. After a while we came to an understanding, I could come and go as I please and they kept me fed, warm and loved. Once I wandered too far and my family didn’t see me for a few days and I was really scared. They did everything they could to find me, never gave up, and eventually brought me back home. I never ran away again and spend most of my days snoozing on the couch or snuggling in my baby brother’s bed for bedtime stories. Well, I tried my best to be safe but it’s a hard knock life out there for stray cats. Something has hurt me very seriously. The vet isn’t sure if I was bitten or hit by a car. I am very scared of the road and rarely roam far from my family’s yard, but accidents happen. Doc says I can’t heal from this on my own, I need surgery and extended aftercare. My family knows I am worth it, but they don’t have the money my namesake, Carole Baskin has and this surgery will take a big chunk out of their money right when my family is full of birthdays and Christmas. I know they’re going to fix me up regardless of money, but my baby brother deserves to still have an amazing Christmas and birthday and a little help with expenses could take some of the burden off of my family.
