In Loving Memory of Robert Romo
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Adina Robello and I am setting up this GoFundMe to ask for the help that's needed to bring my son Robert Romo home from Oregon and to cover the cost of final expenses. Anyone who knew Robert would tell you he was kind, loving, and hilarious. His smile was infectious...and his hugs were so warm and comforting and always left you with a wonderful feeling. He was an amazing son, grandson, cousin, friend, and doting father. He loved his little girl, Amara and his little boy, Emmitt. He loved his family. Words cannot describe the pain and sorrow I feel in my heart, knowing he is gone. I will forever remember the happy times we shared. Robert was by far the best part of me. The stresses of life and our fast changing world weighed heavily on him and for the past few years he struggled with severe anxiety and depression. He moved to Oregon, with my Dad, a few months ago to get back on track, and within a week he found a job working for a small construction company. I was so happy for him and felt hopeful, but I knew he needed more. There were definate warning signs leading up to this tragedy. It could've been prevented. Awareness and education combined with a strong support group working together is key. Suicide is the twelfth leading cause of death in the U.S and second leading cause of death for adults Robert's age. It claimed almost 46,000 lives last year. That's 1 life every 11 minutes. I don't want his life and struggle to be in vain. That is why I feel the importance of sharing his story with you. He was the most courageous person I've ever known. I learned so much from him. I was truly blessed by being a part of his life. I'd like to have a candlelight vigil of remembrance at baseball park by the pond, in Gustine where he played baseball, as a child, followed by a memorial gathering where his family and friends can share memories, and have dinner together. That will take place on Villa Manucha Rd. In Newman. Thank You Ray. On another day when weather permits, Spreading of his ashes in Santa Cruz, will be the final goodbye. Dates and times and detailed locations will be posted here as soon as possible.
Please Note: Any donations left after final expenses, will be donated to American Foundation for suicide prevention. You can visit the website at www.supporting.afsp.org. God Bless and Thank You for reading. If anyone has any information that might be helpful to the cause I would be so grateful.
