Hi Everyone,

My name is Shelby, and my husband Justin was recently diagnosed with a germ cell tumor in his left lung.

Hearing the word cancer has completely turned our lives upside down. Justin is only 28, full of life, and the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. Justin and I have been together for 12 years and just celebrated our first year of being married. We bought our first home back in 2022 and have been working towards our career goals and building our future together. Now, that future looks a little different for a while.

Because of the type of treatment Justin needs, we also have to take steps now to preserve our chance of having children in the future. It’s an emotional and stressful step, but one we feel is important as we hold on to the life we hope to build together.

Justin will be starting an intense chemotherapy regimen called BEP, which will last several months. Each round begins with five days of consecutive treatment, followed by additional infusions and recovery time in between. It’s a tough road ahead, but anyone who knows Justin knows just how determined and resilient he is.

We’re doing our best to stay strong, but the medical bills, time away from work, and travel for treatments is overwhelming. Our two dogs have been our little comfort crew through it all, and they somehow know exactly when we need extra love.
