“An oncologist will be waiting for you in the ER” - Words no mother should ever have to hear about their three year old child. That call was made to Carly hours after taking her daughter Amelia for lab work due to her unusual rash and easy bruising that began just days beforehand.
Amelia was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia shortly after her arrival at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. She has a long hard journey ahead, consisting of aggressive combinations of in and outpatient chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, blood transfusions, and various other courses of treatment. If all interventions go as intended she is expected to be in remission after two and a half years. Her road will be long and hard, but we know that she has the strength to “punch cancer in the face,” as she continues to say.
In order to ease the financial burden of her journey, we are asking for donations to allow her mother, Carly, to care for her, and her twin sister Emma, during this difficult time. Carly is a hard working phlebotomist, single mother, who has always provided for her family. During this time, we are hoping that we can help provide for her in order that she can focus all of her attention to what truly matters - getting Ameila better!
Thank you for taking your time to read this. If you are unable to donate, please share, please pray and please send all of the positivity you can to this wonderful, smart, silly little girl. Together we are #AmeliaStrong
