Robins Foundation 2023 Tough Mudder Team

On Saturday 12th August, we are taking part in the South West Tough Mudder to fundraise for various projects associated with the Robins Foundation.

The Robins Foundation is the Official Charity of Bristol City FC. Although directly linked to the club, we are an independent registered charity and all of our community projects require external funding to run. To find out more about the foundation watch this short clip:

Tough Mudder is the ultimate obstacle course now with 30 obstacles over a 9+ mile run. With no competition and no timing, it’s just you, your teammates and muddy strangers working together to conquer the course and earn the world-famous orange headband.

We will have two teams tackling the course on the day with each team member aiming to fundraise £200. In total we are aiming to fundraise over £6,000 for sutain several projects already running in our community. To reach our target, we need your help!

What are we fundraising for?

We require funding for students from disadvantaged backgrounds on our education programmes. Many of these students cannot afford basic needs for the course, such as playing kit or bus travel. These students miss out annually on our international trip to Portugal. Your donations would allow certain students, who often haven't travelled outside of Bristol before, the opportunity to get on a plane and travel abroad for the first time, experiencing an international tour with their peers that would otherwise be completely unattainable. Find out more here.

We require funding to sustain our F3 project for women and girls. F3 sessions run weekly in a fun and safe environment, with approximately 75 women a week attending, most of whom having not exercised since leaving secondary school. The central Bristol sessions has allowed women from different religious backgrounds to exercise without barriers. It is important that we continue to offer this service to benefit the physical and mental wellbeing of our women and girls. Your donations will support us to ensure the sessions remain free and accessible to all. Find out more here.

Bristol City Cerebral Palsy FC are excited to announce that we will be attending the International Cerebral Palsy Football Festival in Copenhagen in August 2023. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a whole weekend of playing against other teams with Cerebral Palsy and is a chance for the whole team to go away together. Thanks to recent fundraising we are heading towards the target, however, we are looking for additional support so that we can ensure the whole team has the opportunity to attend. Find out more here.

We require funding to sustain our Youth & Pan Disability Football Sessions. In recent weeks, we have seen record high attendances at each session and it would be a huge shame for the coaches and participants - many of whom have been coming to sessions for years - to lose the opportunity to better their physical and mental well being as well as their social lives. Your donations will support us to continue providing more than just football to our participants. Find out more here.

Bristol City Down Syndrome Football has been running for over 7 years now. Due to only having one funding stream, we have never had capacity to grow the club outside of its current perimeters. We have plans to organise various social events & trips, update our equipment and start a women's only DS football session. It would be amazing to expand our club even further, provide different opportunities for our players to learn different skills, grow the friendships they have made at the sessions and make our club even more sustainable. Find out more here.

Robins Talk provides weekly sessions for those struggling with mental health or just finding things in life hard. Robins Talk offers participants an hour of exercise to help boost mood, self-esteem and confidence as well as the space to talk about individual struggles and stresses. The sessions are open to any sex or gender, and show that football is more than just a game. With adults becoming less active through the pandemic, we want to continue to champion socialising and being active. We require funding to continue providing this vital service to those most in need in our communities. Find out more here.
