Final Update: Shane passed Feb 15, 7:10am.
We want to sincerely thank everyone who donated throughout his year long fight against
cancer.
Your contributions allowed him to never miss a rent payment and buy food even though he had not worked since March of last year.
It also allowed him to pay bills and in the end helped with getting everything and everyone moved out of his apartment, as well as his final arrangements.
He will be missed by many.
In the next few weeks we will be closing out this gofundme. All of you truly are amazing.
Thank you.
Update: We are making one last request for support, Shane is in hospice and not expected to last the weekend. He is being made comfortable, and his family is surrounding him with love. We are all devastated at this impending loss.
The next steps will be those of resolving his financial responsibilities, getting things moved or donated, and paying for his cremation and final arrangements. We deeply appreciate all the support everyone has provided. It truly has helped in his fight the past year.
Update: Shane has finished his tandem cell transplant with his chemo treatment in Denver. We are not sure how well this worked to kill his cancer. One tumor marker looks great the other not so good. We will know more when we see his oncologist Dec 19 back in Colorado Springs.
Update: Shane has finished up the first round of a tandem stem cell replacement chemotherapy. Second round to begin Nov 12. The first round sucked. He struggled mentally & physically. He had support with a therapist & feeding tube. He is not looking forward to his second round. We are held up at hospital sponsored housing for the duration. Thank you everyone for your support.
Update: Shane recently had a very big setback. His cancer, despite multiple rounds of chemotherapy, has now spread to his brain and he has 3 golf ball sized tumors. One is pressing on his motor cortex, which is causing some paralysis. He is currently in the hospital until he can walk again, and undergoing radiation treatments in hope of shrinking the tumors. This has been so hard on Shane.
Some of you have already donated, and for that we are eternally grateful!! All funds go to him to pay bills. He won't be able to work until the tumors are gone.
If you feel like donating, any amount is appreciated. Feel free to share it as well.
Update: Shane has had full body scans and blood test. The cancer is not all gone so he is being admitted into the hospital for a second round of chemo. Like the first round this one is a week of chemo, two weeks down for four rounds. He will need to take unpaid FMLA for this treatment. Any amount you give will help. Thanks for all your support
He has used up most of his sick leave at work and will need to take Leave w/o Pay for his next steps. The funds will really help pay his rent while is isn’t working. Thank you everyone.
Shane has been diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer that has spread across his delicate and supple little body. It is unfortunately expensive to attempt healing from this affliction.
Any amount of money is helpful. We aren't sure how expensive its going to be, but it will be a burden for us.
