Embracing the Jeser Family
Nearly 4 years after being initially diagnosed with esophageal cancer, I am sadly losing the insidious war being waged against my body and my family. As we prepare for the inevitable, we are all focusing on my quality of life and spending invaluable and unforgettable time together as a family. We are cuddling, hugging and holding each other a little bit tighter. Hugs and kisses from Laura and Eleanore are undoubtedly the brightest part of my day.
As a ‘fundraiser’ at heart, I am going to, perhaps one very last time, ask others for financial support. But, of course, this is for a different purpose. I have set up this crowdfunding campaign to help my beloved Laura with everything she’s going to need to properly care for Eleanore over the coming years...things like Eleanore's schooling, childcare, activities, healthcare and wellness, among other needs, all while giving Laura room to breathe as she confronts her life without me.
As if the trauma of this whole thing wasn't enough, I am devastated that Laura will bear the financial burden of this entire family on her own. Of course I know she will figure this all out, but after Laura stopped working as an event consultant when I got sick years ago, I have been the primary breadwinner for the family and so every bit this campaign raises will make a big difference.
I’m crushed to have to say goodbye to the love of my life, which is why it's so important for me to do what I can for her and Eleonore while I'm still here. It is so difficult to ask for help of this kind and I can’t thank you enough.
