Standing with Sara: A community’s promise.

Hello...We are Sara's Angels! Angie, Christy, Andrea, Sara, Tammy and Yvonne. Little did we know, in the summer of 2024, that 6 middle-aged women, with very different life stories were about to experience a life-changing weekend known as "Crossroads Woman Camp".
Most of us had never met, yet our weekend together resulted in a connection most only read about.
The weekend included more than I can describe, including each of us holding one another to a promise to get our mammograms and other essential exams.
This is where our request for your help begins:
Sara, our now dear friend, had literally just moved here with her cat (which thinks he's a dog) George, from across the country. Sara survived a challenging decade, and had successfully made a courageous trek to begin a new life free from control and abuse. Scared, but excited, she dove head first into a new career, and opportunities to heal and rebuild her life, and heart, in a city where she knew absolutely no one!
A couple of weeks after camp, we began a small group, meeting weekly. In the first night of our group, Sara shared that her mammogram revealed cancer. We accompanied her to the appointment where she would learn that she had stage 3 breast cancer, and would need chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and then radiation. JUST LIKE THAT, Sara's exciting new journey looked very different.
In the short time we've had Sara in our family, we've observed her give of her time, talent, financial resources, and humbly share her story to help others.
While getting to know Sara intimately, we learned of her vision and passion to one day establish a nonprofit that provides a "store experience" for folks who have been impacted by poverty and hard times, allowing them to shop for items they need at no cost in an effort to reignite confident identity in people. She shines like a bright light when she speaks of all the ideas she has to help others. She’s always looking for opportunities to make an impact.
Today, we ask all of you reading this, to help us help her, as we come together as a community to raise funds for unexpected expenses and needs for our incredible and selfless friend.
No amount is too small! Thousands of kind humans, contributing the smallest amount, can impact a life in miraculous ways.
Thank you for your prayers and for your generosity as we fight this battle with our sister, Sara.
P.S For reference, Sara is the one in the shirt that says "UNAFRAID". No words are more true!
