My sister, Angelica Malka Bitton began having pain in her abdomen in March 2019. After surgeries, procedures (CT Scans, MRI, Endoscopies, Colonoscopies), bone marrow biopsy, iron infusions and seeing different doctors for all of her symptoms, the doctors are still not sure exactly the cause of everything.
She was on TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition), and last October a GJ Tube was given to her. This tube by-passes the stomach and goes straight into the intestines, as she is unable to absorb any nutrients in her system. She has been diagnosed with many things, such as MALS (Medium Arcuate Ligament Syndrome, which she did surgery for), Malabsorption, Anemia (they are still trying to figure out what type, and she does iron infusions every few months), MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) in her gut, Neutropenia, Leukopenia, Gastroparesis, Dyspepsia & Disorder of the function of the stomach, IBS, SIBO and extremely high Histamine. Needless to say, the daily pain that my sister lives with is unbearable. My parents are constantly taking her to doctors, as nothing seems to be helping her. The added stress to that is also not knowing how they will pay for all of the medical bills. This has taken a very high toll on them, as there just doesn't seem to be any end in sight.
Thank you for the time that you took to read this, and any help by giving or sharing my sister's story is very much appreciated.
