Hi Sweet Friends!!!
Thank you for asking what you can do to help. We are just a counter cultural family that has always lived simply and dedicated our lives the past 13+ to raising our sons that we adopted from the foster care.
I work for a ministry, Andrew works at Publix. It is has been such a blessing raising our sons, but it hasn’t been easy. Now that they are 20 and almost 19, we finally thought we were getting to the point where we could focus on plans for this next season, saving for retirement, and pouring into our local church and other ministries we are involved with.
But Thurs, Sept 26th at around 11:30pm, plans for the next season literally washed away as the sewage infested, storm surge poured through our doors, floors and also into both of our cars.
After the culmination of so many trials we have faced, the last 8 years especially, loosing so much just feels so overwhelming. We have to restore our home, find cars, and start all over again.
We are deeply perplexed, I have cried the most I have in all 8 years of various trials, and we are just trying to get through each day and figure out what is next. But we haven’t lost hope, nor will we let this rob our joy. Even as we sat on our couch in a foot of water waiting for it to start to go down so we could begin to clean, we gave thanks for all the blessings we still have, sang comforting songs and prayed for strength to face what lay ahead.
We continue to count blessings each day and we thank you in advance for being a part of our story. Beauty out of ashes…our story continues. We are grateful for any blessing you would like to share with us to help us rebuild.
