Help Hannah Heal 

Despite a dynamic and outgoing personality, Hannah has suffered through mysterious ailments for most of her life without anyone, family,  friends, or doctors, knowing the cause of the issues. Known genetic complications from birth, including Osteogenesis Imperfecta (fragile bones) and Scoliosis (curved spine), led to multiple surgeries and broken bones, while never explaining other pervasive symptoms, such as fatigue, generalized pain, debilitating nausea, and more. Hannah was tested for every medical likelihood her family and doctors could think of, including, at the time Lyme disease, but the results came back negative, as often happens with Lyme. Recently, a series of unfortunate car accidents in which she was not at fault resulted in hospitalization and a significant decline in health which Hannah has been unable to recover from.  She experienced complications such as infections,elevated cardiac troponin levels and problems with her memory, to name a few. In the process of trying to find out why she could not heal from her car accidents and what was going on with the other health issues she took numerous tests, and in the end was diagnosed with late stage chronic Lyme disease, along heavy metal poisoning and Bartonella, which is a Lyme co-infection and very difficult to treat.

Now that we finally understand a major cause of Hannah's health problems the next step is to improve her health before it is too late. Although Lyme cannot be fully cured at this stage, it can be controlled, and Hannah has the ability to live a full and fulfilling life. Unfortunately, Lyme treatment is very expensive and most of it is not covered by insurance.  Hannah found highly regarded medical facilities in Mexico which offer cutting edge alternative treatments at a fraction of the cost of those in the US. However, these are still far beyond her current means, as are the necessary follow up treatments needed when she returns. Lyme can lead to premature and permanent conditions with her mind and heart, so it is crucial that Hannah receives treatment and controls the Lyme quickly. Some of these late-stage Lyme symptoms have already begun to manifest in Hannah and ultimately, at this rate, her body will no longer be able to fight off infections, causing the disease to become fatal.  Already Hannah is bedridden most days, in significant pain and struggling to manage basic tasks. Her list of symptoms is long, and ranges from memory loss and depression to severe pain, numbness/tingling and exhaustion; all of which are well-known Lyme symptoms.
