Jordan Mission Trip
Donation protected
I am privledged to join a mission trip (August 31-Sept 8) to Jordan with Vineyard Columbus Church members to serve Syrian refugees in the town of Mafraq through Alliance Church, and Iranian refugees in Amman. We will help Alliance Church with their ministry of delivering supplies, praying, and otherwise supporting the refugees as well as the long-term field workers in town. We also hope to empower refugee families by using UN-developed resources to help their children through trauma. Alliance Church has been working with Vineyard Columbus Church for several years. They have been supporting refugees since they began arriving and have developed a strong infrastructure for volunteers from all over the world to help as they help refugees.
I first heard of this mission trip through dear friends who are current members of Vineyard Columbus Church. I am still a member in heart but have since relocated to the Nashville area. The Lord is calling me to do things way outside of my comfort zone: do a short-term mission trip and ask for donations to do it. But the refugee tragedy breaks my heart and it seems when our hearts are broken, that is a nudge to do something. Imagine living your life the way you do, even taking it for granted a little, and then BOOM! your life is upside down and you are surrounded by death, hate, and war. All you knew is gone. All you had is gone. You and those fortunate enough to still be alive are running for your lives and totally dependent on the kindness of strangers. While I don't think I can "do" anything about this immense sadness on a larger sense, perhaps I will have the privledge of making one person smile and sharing their burden with them for just a moment.
I would appreciate your donation of any amount. Anything will help. Should your contributions exceed my need, the money will go to the church.
Please make your donation out to me, Joanne Taddeo, via check or Venmo or through the GoFundMe site. I will share my experiences with you and certainly ask God to share any blessings He may have for me with you as well.
My address is 4565 Boxcroft Circle, Mt Juliet, TN 37122.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. And thank you for giving, if you are moved to do so.
God bless you!
Joanie
