Hi everyone,

My name is Amy and I am reaching out with deep hope and vulnerability to ask for your support. I am 38 and a mum to a beautiful three-year-old daughter who is my whole world. More than anything, I want to be able to walk, stand, and play with her – to live a life that’s not defined by constant pain and immobility.

Since the age of 10, I’ve been living with degenerative disc disease. My first disc herniated when I was a child, and I was told this would progressively get worse over time. Sadly, that’s exactly what has happened. Over the years, I’ve tried everything available to me – physiotherapy, Pilates, chiropractors, osteopaths, and multiple steroid injections (which nearly cost me my life due to my undiagnosed Addison’s disease at the time).

Eventually, I underwent spinal fusion surgery on my L5-SI joint to try and relieve the unbearable pain and nerve compression that was making it impossible to walk. But almost immediately after surgery, my SI2 joint herniated. Now my scans show further herniations at L3 and L4, and I live with severe daily pain, unable to sit for long or walk. For the past six months, I’ve been mostly bedridden.

Alongside this, I also battle Addison’s disease and an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), which make treatment even more complex.

Despite everything, I refuse to give up. I’ve been researching every option available, and the results I’ve seen from stem cell treatment give me real hope. Stem cell therapy has shown incredible potential for people like me with spinal degeneration – offering the chance to repair damage, reduce pain, and regain mobility.

This treatment, however, is not available on the NHS and comes with a cost that I simply cannot afford on my own. That’s why I’m here, humbly asking for help.

I want nothing more than to live a fuller life again – to be the mum my daughter deserves, to go outside with her, to walk hand in hand without fear or pain. With your support, I believe I can make this possible.
