Hello everyone, as some of you may already know, on Monday 12/12/22 around 10:30 am there was an explosion in our building. The fire and smoke got really bad very quickly. We were able to get out in time but we unfortunately lost one of our pack. Little Bleu (one of our cats) breathed in too much smoke and didn’t make it out. Addie, Lola, Rajah and Lynx are thankfully okay but we are going to miss Bleu so much.

Fernando, Emi, Sergio and I were home when everything happened (Izandro was at school). We lost basically all we owned. Everything we had built and worked so hard for lost suddenly. Two other families with kids ranging from 1 month old to 14 years old that lived in our building also lost everything. We lost our homes and are all trying to find places to live while our homes are reconstructed and safe to return to. We’ve been told it might be several months before that happens.

We know we are truly blessed that there were no human fatalities. Some of you have already helped us so much with clothes donations, gift cards and we are extremely grateful. We are so fortunate to belong to such an amazing community.

In all honesty, I have a very difficult time asking for help for myself, but at this time we, as well as the other families, need all the help we can get. I plan on dividing whatever is raised between all three families affected. Any donation, no matter how small is appreciated.
