Help Storm Get the Surgery She Needs
Donation protected
In July 2024, at 6 years old, Storm was surrendered by her owner to Downey Animal Care Center for not getting along with their other dog. Upon arriving at the shelter, Storm presented with a medical condition involving a palpable abdominal mass located centrally. Bloodwork indicated signs of anemia. Due to Storm’s condition, the shelter was not able to perform any surgery, including having her spayed.
It was only a few weeks later that Storm received her final notice on the euthanasia list, and was at risk of being put down at the shelter. Luckily, an incredible foster stepped up for her and, with the help of a rescue, she was able to make it out of the shelter alive.
Once she was free, her foster brought her to the vet immediately, where they were able to rule out cancer - this was incredible news! However, after taking some x-rays they found that she did have some hip issues that were causing her a lot of pain and discomfort.
By the time Storm was ready for her spay surgery, the rescue that pulled her had run out of funds and announced that they would be closing down. Now her foster is left with the burden of her medical expenses, including her spay surgery.
We have reached out to several rescues to see if they will take in storm and help with her medical expenses, however, most aren't willing to help until the spay surgery is complete.
I am raising funds on behalf Storms foster to help with the medical costs for her Spay surgery which is $400.
Any amount helps toward this unexpected expense!
