Hi guys, this is something I've been putting off as I never like to ask for help but many people close to us and even strangers have told us to set up a page.
As most of you may know we early this year took in Trigger to give him a forever loving home❤️. He has completed our family & everyone who meets him falls in love with him because of the funny, playful loving character he is❤️.
Trigger was born with severe Hydrocephalus, a very rare condition (especially in a larger breed) that means 'fluid on the brain's. In Triggers case he has 5% brain and 95% fluid. We only found this out a month ago when he fell ill.
Since his diagnosis after a CT scan and a few nights in hospital (in Newquay where he fell ill), we were sent to a neurologist (Somerset) where we didn't have the best of experience at, I then pleaded for a 2nd opinion with another neurologist who has been amazing (Bristol).
Not giving up on Trigger I had done research day and night in possible medications that could help him as since he 1st hell Ill, his only way of movement was circling to the right. After finding out "Omeprazole" has helped dogs with the same condition around the world, I told the vets I was not leaving until we had them. Within just 48 hours, Trigger was running around, not in circles but in straighter lines and ever since been progressing and enjoys a leaded walk! He has been so much happier in himself and his progression & confidence has been amazing❤️❤️❤️.
We knew with his condition that seizures were to come, where early hours yesterday morning he discovered his 1st ever seizure and had multiple after this resulting him having a night in hospital, with many blood tests.
Unfortunately we have had every single insurance claims rejected because he has had this 'condition since birth', yet we didn't know this we simply wanted to just give him a loving home that he has❤️.
Although vet bills are becoming a struggle trying to work out the best medication to help him get by. He has been told when he's a little older (in around 4 months time) they would consider a life saving surgery a "shunt" that will help him love a much longer life. We have been quoted around £7,000 for this alone. Without any help from any insurance companies this is a struggle.
Trigger is such a happy loving playful boy, and despite us being told a month ago for him to be PTS he has since shown so much progression, despite his disability he absolutely loves life❤️. And that for me is enough to help save my boy❤️.
You can keep up to date on Trigger's Instagram & [email redacted]gger where updates are often posted
Any little help would be really appreciated to help continue any outstanding vet bills and towards his life saving operation.
If you got this far thank you so much for reading, I really do appreciate it
Lots of love
